Abundant Public Open Space

The Plaza was designed for community engagement, with layered programmable open space.

Year-Round Open Space Program

With an annual programing budget of over $800,000, The Plaza will engage residents and visitors with exciting community activities including the seasonal ice skating rink included in the design.

Additional programming being considered includes:

  • Outdoor musical performances
  • Film screenings
  • Children’s events
  • Specialty food, arts and crafts markets
  • Theater, Poetry Slams, and Performance Art
  • Summertime festivals
  • Holiday installations
  • Exercise classes for youths, adults, and seniors

48 units of affordable housing

Specialty Marketplace

Designed with Santa Monica residents in mind, the specialty marketplace will offer artisanal foods, crafts, and services for the community, allowing The Plaza to integrate into daily life.

Cultural and Museum Space

The Plaza will have a Museum space of over 12,000 square feet. The Museum/Cultural space will deliver an experience that is as unique as Santa Monica. Stay tuned for our upcoming announcement on both programming and the new entity coming to our City.

Bicycle Center and Bike Share Station

The Plaza at Santa Monica is committed to engaging and encouraging avid cyclists, families and visitors to use their bikes to get to The Plaza and around downtown.

Modern Parking Facilities for the Public

The Plaza’s over 820 space parking garage will include approximately 200 new public parking spaces as well as parking to accommodate visitors and tenants of the building. Using cutting-edge parking management technology, additional public parking will be made available throughout the day.
