After investigatingAfter investigating the best practicesthe best practices of national arts and education programs around the country, The Plaza plans to engage local audiences by coordinating with Santa Monica’s arts organizations and businesses. Using features like an outdoor amphitheater, the plan is to keep The Plaza a magnet every day, week, and month of the year.
Enriching the Fabric
of Urban Life
Our year-round cultural budget will invest almost $1 Million annually for music, theater, dance and visual arts, including seasonal programs at the Amphitheater and Urban Garden.
The Plaza's Hotel and Office spaces will generate the support needed to sustain and promote free public programs.
In 2019/20, we collaborated with Community Arts Resources (CARS) on a series of Free Events with much success. We also will continue to support DTSM and The Broad Stage in providing public programming resources.
The site will program Seasonal Gatherings all year round, including screenings, fairs, performances and lectures and the beloved ice skating rink.
